10 Truths of Ministry
10 Truths of Ministry
01. The Foundation of Ministry is Character
Read Colossians 3:12-15
We are chosen one and God has given us a new man inside. We are to put on meekness, kindness, humility, tender mercies, meekness, patience, bearing and forgiving one another as we serve. These are the very character that is in Christ. If Christ is in us, we ought to be carrying it. These are no weaknesses but strength to face the challenges ahead. 2Corinthians 4:8-10. Have you got your foundation in place?

Have you got your foundation in place?
02. The Nature of Ministry is Service
Read Matt 4:11
Jesus was being ministered to by the angels when He came out victoriously from the desert. In other words, He was being served by not just one but by ANGELS. Jesus gave parable of the King in Matt 25:34-46; serving Him is to serve His kingdom or rather, His Body. It all sum up to Love God, Love people.
Remind ourselves that in ministry, we are not serving in our own interest. Not doing what we love to do most. Our service unto the Lord is our expression of love to Him, in whatever small way it may be.
03. The Motive of Ministry is Love
Without Love it will be draining, unfulfilling, simply carrying out duty. We all started well in the begining serving with great zeal. Because we received His great love 1st; we want to reciprocate by serving, seeing the needs in the body. Eventually when focus lost, discouragement sets in. Jesus understood it is difficult, that is why He reminded Peter 3 times continued loving Him in John 21:15 - 17..."more than these"
More than the blessings we received
More than talents or giftings we possess. More than the doing instead of being.
Do you feel that you are losing steam? Renew your love for Him daily
04. The Measure of Ministry is Sacrifice.
Consider the great men and great women of God? They laid down their life for the people they serve. King David declared (Read 2 Sam 24:24) that he would not bring offerings and sacrifices to the Lord that cost him NOTHING.
Ministry will cost us our time, effort, energy, inconveniences, talent, emotion, money, etc....When people serve at their own convenience, preference, comfort (own terms and conditions), this is called hobby......God will never forsake the faithful ones and His reward is eternal. Luke 6:38 ......in good measure He will reward.
Have a fruitful day 🍋
05. The Authority of Ministry is through Submission.
Without submission to authority, there would have no power over the enemy. Jesus in the garden of Gethsamane (John 17) made a choice to subject Himself to the Roman authority. If He had not, Satan will be jumping with joy celebrating and we have no victory. Insubmission = rebellion = witchcraft (1Sam 15:23, 2Peter 2:10). The devil will be too glad to receive us into his club. Submission is a big word, 'cause it cause us to die to our "self"; our status, our privacy, our desire and our pleasure...which our sin nature never like to do. To see ministry fruitfulness, submit to authority over us so that people we minister will do likewise to us. Behold, we can find joy through submission, look unto Jesus (Heb 12:2).
Have a blessed day!🏻
06. The Purpose of Ministry is for the Glory of God
How are we able to give Him glory?
Matt 5:16
E.g. 1. an usher seemingly doing a simple job, but he/she is helping the people to worship and praise God, that's giving Him glory!
E.g. 2. When you bring a person to recv Jesus, teaching and guiding them. When they begin to give thanks and praising God, that's giving Him glory!
All that we do and that lead people to give thanks and praises to Jesus, that's giving Him glory!
Even in our giving that can help someone to know Jesus, and that person begin loving God, that's giving Him glory!
1Cor 10:31 - it's not about us, it's about Him
Have a blessed weekend
07. The Tools of Ministry are the Word of God
John 6:63
Act of kindness, good works without administering with His Word are just social welfare works. Such effort can only feed the physical and emotional needs but not feeding the inner man - his spirit. Ministry with His Word brings encouragement, healings, deliverance, freedom, abundant life! Becoz by His Word.........there will be transformation.
We need to be equipped by attending classes LIW, SCG, CGLT, personal devotion......
Take a lk at your personal tool box, what are you carrying?
Have a blessed weekend
08. The Privilege of Ministry is Personal Growth
Read Rom 1:17
2Cor 3:18
What an honour and privilege to serve God. Ministry give us a platform to live out His Word, put into practice how to carry our own cross, how to forgive, give up one's right, to pray, work signs and wonders, etc... It help us to grow from our weaknesses, poor self esteem, selfishness to more Christ like. Growing our faith in Him and exhibiting the glory of God through our servanthood lifestyle.
Read Prov 6:10-11
Be doer of His Word (Prov 20:13). The 'bread' is His living Word. Do you feel that your life is mundane? Get up and serve! You will see excitement in your walk with Him
09. The Power of Ministry is the Holy Spirit
Read Luke 24:49, Acts 1:4 - 8
It is like Jesus was saying ''Wait, let Me anoints you with the power of the Holy Spirit before you begin your ministry......''
Zech 4:6 says that we should not depend solely on our own strength and resources because they are limited. It is by His Holy Spirit that enable us to do things beyond what we can understand or imagine. Glory belongs to Him. On our knees and pray, yield to Him and we will see powerful transformation in the ministries.
10. The Model of Ministry is our Lord Jesus
Read John 13:14-15
All of the 9 Truths of Ministry are what our Lord set forth as examples for us to follow. He will not tell us to do things which He had not done. He shown to us it is possible for us to accomplish the ministry He called and entrusted us (2Cor 5: 18)
